Anne - thank you for the video reflection. It was a nice change of pace and you were able to share many thoughts in an articulate way. I also love the red hat - how can I get my 16 month old to understand the concept? You made some very valid points especially regarding the meaningful integration of technology into the written curriculum. I believe that the struggles your LEA is facing are quite common. Technology was not intentionally a part of the last draft and therefore, once integrated, comes across as an add on. It is also difficult to keep up with some cutting edge technologies. While Inspiration and Kidspiration were once the “bees knees,” there is now so much more we can do to enhance instruction. I was also thrilled that you touched upon assistive technology. I have long thought that special ed was far ahead of us in the game when it came to technology to enhance the learning process. General ed could learn so much from our special ed colleagues.
